Castor is a woodtype and letterpress hybrid based on grotesque letterforms. It’s a vintage decorative bold distressed display with 3 options for each letter; Uppercase, lowercase, and alternates.

Thanks to a local historical society volunteer, I got my hands on a couple rubbings; these show a particular style of stonecarving that proved captivating to the point of typeface design.
